Paltrinieri

Alberto Paltrinieri belongs to the third generation of a historic family of winemakers who have been producing Lambrusco in Sorbara since 1926. Stubborn and unconventional, Alberto has never followed trends but, on the contrary, has always remained firmly anchored to an idea of territorial wine, putting to good use the precious teachings of his grandfather and father. Together with his wife Barbara Galassi, he personally takes care of the operations in the vineyard and in the cellar, thanks also to the contribution of the enologists Attilio Pagli and Leonardo Conti.

The vineyards of the Paltrinieri winery cover a single body of land in the Cristo area, a strip of land between the Secchia and Panaro rivers, characterised by medium-textured, loose, muddy soils that allow the vigour of the vines to exalt their acidic and saline components. This area has inextricably linked its name to the cultivation of Lambrusco di Sorbara, a variety that over the centuries has made its home in the sandy soils and floodplain nature typical of this area, capable of giving the wines dryness, acidity and good minerality.

In these areas, Alberto manages the vineyards according to agronomic practices that respect the environment, thanks to limited and targeted interventions. The winery has adopted a traditional and refined style, which perfectly defines the wines obtained, great interpreters of a vine that gives excellent acidity and capacity for evolution.
