The Death's Door Gin is a biologic gin, which is surprising for its ingredients' simplicity. It was born from the union of three well-balanced botanical herbs, which come from the uncontaminated nature of Washington Island, of Wisconsin, the land of the distillery: juniper berries, coriander and fennel. The recipe was developed by the owners, John Jeffery and Brian Ellison, committed to preserve and enhance the biodiversity of this American area. The same idea of authenticity finds its place in gin production itself, which derives from the redistillation of Death's Door Vodka. The vodka is made with a strong spirit, which is made with wheat and barley, and with a less strong one, which is made with corn. It is redistilled and its vapors go in the still columns, where there are the juniper, the coriander and the fennel. The herbs are not macerated, so that their entirety determine a perfect balance, a sensory delight. The Death's Door Gin has a striking name, which indicates the small stretch of sea that separates the Door Peninsula from the small Washington Island, and has a strong character, whcih is due to the desire to produce a classic London Dry. However, that gin reveals a disarming sweetness at the end of the tasting experience, thanks to the nature of the alcohol and the craft techniques ... A great mastery, inlaid with a natural fragrant bouquet.
