'Oasi Bianco' Aquila del Torre 2017

Oasi Bianco di Aquila del Torre was established in the province of Udine, specifically in Povoletto, a border area between Italy and Slovenia, home of white wines of impeccable quality. The company is family-run and today it is Michele, together with his father Claudio, who successfully manages the business. The philosophy that guides the work in the cellar is respect for the environment in which they live and work, in a continuous dialogue with new trends and cultivation techniques. Since 2013, the winery has been working the land and grapes organically, and since 2015 it has embraced the dictates of biodynamic agriculture, favouring the practice of green manure, spontaneous grassing in favour of soil fertility.

The vineyards at Oasi Bianco di Aquila del Torre are carefully tended by expert pruners who ensure that the vines receive the necessary nourishment so that they can best express their intrinsic territorial characteristics. The soil is composed of a stratification of marly stone and sandstone with the presence of clay and the altitude is between 175 and 300 metres above sea level. The orientation is south/south-west, with constant sunshine between the rows throughout the year, which guarantees full ripening of the grapes. Harvesting is manual; in the cellar, spontaneous fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels. It matures 12 months on the lees.

The colour of Oasi Bianco di Aquila del Torre is golden yellow with brilliant and intense reflections. The aromas released are reminiscent of candied citrus fruits, white summer flowers and spicy notes of vanilla, toast and balsamic hints on the finish; on the palate it is soft, elegant and enveloping with good freshness and final persistence for a pleasant drink. It goes perfectly with smoked salmon and stewed fish dishes; it is also perfect with roast white meats and first courses dressed with sauces based on seasonal vegetables. Perfect for the Christmas Eve table or for romantic evenings by the sea in summer at sunset to enjoy the goodness of Collio Friulano.
