Whisky Single Malt 'Viking Honour' Highland Park 12 Anni

The Whisky Highland Park 12 years comes from the Orkney Islands where the distillery was founded in 1798 and is one of the most remote in the world. Exposure to the elements of nature and the extreme position are a special feature of this single malt. For over two hundred years the distillery is based on ancient traditions and the best craftsmanship respecting certain fundamental aspects: the malting process operated manually on stone floors which gives the whiskey an extremely aromatic and balanced, the use of peat ancient Orkney (particularly fragrant by the absence of trees) that gives a sweet smoky aroma and unique, the exploitation of the cold climate and air rich in sea salt that promotes great balance to whiskey, aging in oak barrels former sherry contributing to its unique richness and complexity. 12 years is a rich amber color whiskey from very eclectic with many shades in it: initially perceive honey and barley, then the fruit, a touch of wood and spices. A single malt character dynamic and daring at first, but with a softer side during the tasting. Nose it shows concentrated and intense, with an explosion of mixed smoky notes, ginger, peach, yellow plums and vanilla. Exceptional persistence, the palate is dry with notes of vanilla, blackberries, fresh mango, peach and a slight hint of cinnamon. Velvety with good complexity and with a final full of smoke and peat.
